Seeking Sponsors for Grand Race Ukraine–Europa 2026: From Retro to Electric

In 2026, Ukraine will host a major automotive project uniting history, motorsport, classic machinery, and modern technology. The "Golden Steering Wheel of Ukraine" Grand Race Ukraine–Europa RUH 2026—an Open Cup event organized by the Society for the Promotion of Defense of Ukraine (TSOU)—is scheduled to coincide with the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence and the 35th anniversary of the TSOU itself. Alongside participant registration, the organizers are currently seeking sponsors, as well as financial and media partners, to join in developing the project.

From Retro to Electric: Vehicles of Different Generations on a Single Route

A key feature of the Grand Race Ukraine–Europa RUH 2026 is its "From Retro to Electric" concept. Owners of vintage and classic cars, modern vehicles, and electric cars—as well as motorcycles with sidecars and other vehicles included in the event program—are invited to participate.

The main marathon kicks off on August 21, 2026. The first stage runs until September 7, following a route that starts and ends in Kyiv while passing through various Ukrainian cities. The second stage is scheduled for September 21–27, traveling from Kyiv to Lviv. The third, international stage takes place from September 28 to October 10, 2026, featuring a route from Lviv through European cities before returning to Ukraine.

Thus, the Grand Race 2026 international automotive marathon will bridge the Ukrainian and European legs of the journey, offering an opportunity to showcase the Ukrainian automotive community abroad.

A historical mission forms a vital component of the project. The routes are linked to significant chapters of Ukrainian history, particularly the events of the national liberation war led by Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky. Through this automotive event, the organizers aim to promote historical awareness, Ukrainian cities, and cultural heritage.

What do Grand Race participants gain?

Participation in the marathon involves more than just completing the route. According to the organizers, participants will have the opportunity to qualify for a sports ranking, while owners of eligible historic vehicles can obtain an official certificate of historical status from Ukraine’s expert certification commission.

Another feature is the option to join specific stages; completing the entire international route is not mandatory. The rally-marathon comprises 35 stages, and participating in even one of them could offer the chance to be part of a planned Ukrainian record-breaking event.

For the first stage, 60 trophies, 100 medals, and 150 certificates will be awarded. After participating in the Ukrainian leg, owners of vintage and electric cars may also have the opportunity to join the final European rally in Lithuania.

The project also includes a charitable component. There is no fixed registration fee; participants determine the amount themselves. Half of these contributions will go toward supporting the SBS Antares battalion.
