Metalist LLC is the only plant in Western Ukraine that sells water heating boilers:

- for water supply systems,

- heating of premises and drying chambers,

- to provide heat for technological processes during the burning of wood waste (chips, sawdust, lumpy waste), coal waste and mixtures.

The need to dispose of wood waste (bark, shavings, sawdust) is constantly needed, as it is an inseparable process in the direction of woodworking. If the volume in the woodworking process increases, the requirements for cleanliness in the processing of products and parts change accordingly, which automatically leads to an increase in the amount of waste, so the disposal of wood processing residues is a problem, both ecological and economic. According to statistics, about 5 million cubic meters of bark, shavings and sawdust are left at Ukrainian wood and wood processing enterprises every year. When burning wood waste, the concentration of harmful gaseous substances emitted into the air is much lower than the ecological purity of the air, and the cost of heat is an order of magnitude lower than when other types of fuel are disposed of. And if we take into account the constant increase in the prices of gas, diesel fuel, electricity, fuel oil, it becomes clear how difficult it is for enterprises to survive in this field, especially medium and small businesses, which must produce competitive products in difficult working conditions.

- With the mass use of band saws, there was a problem of disposal of finely dispersed fuel, and we successfully eliminated this problem as well. Having introduced constructive innovations and changes, the installations of our production burn sawdust from frame and band sawmills at a humidity of no more than 70%, and sunflower husks in automatic mode. Pieces of wood waste, peat briquettes, coal, straw are burned in the furnace of the boiler.

Since many regions of our country have huge deposits of peat, which are currently used in small quantities, in 2005 our team was asked the question of the possibility of using power plants for burning milled peat. On the basis of conducted scientific research and experiments, our plant created a gas generator with an original design for burning milled peat with a moisture content of no more than 30%.

To compare production efficiency, you can use these calculations of the cost of heat when burning different fuels (kcal - kop.):

Diesel fuel 1 liter = 8960 kcal = 3.8 hryvnias - 24 kcal — cop.;

Coal (1 kg) = 6500 kcal = 55 kopecks. - 118 kcal — cop.;

Peat (1 kg) = 3400 kcal = 13 kopecks. - 262 kcal — cop.;

Wood (1 kg) = 2400 kcal = 10 kopecks. - 240 kcal — cop.;

Sawdust, bark, shavings, sunflower husks (1 kg) = 2000 kcal = 0.01 UAH - 2000 kcal - kop.
