Calcium sulfate anhydrite is used to increase mechanical strength, control setting times and control shrinkage in building materials.

 

From timber structures to air conditioning systems

Solvay’s chemical technologies are also used in timber frame construction. Phenol is used in the production of phenolic resins to ensure the durability of materials, and Solsys® Coat MA and Solsys® Coat IBA are designed for wood coating systems.

The heating and cooling segment presents NOCOLOK® technologies for brazing aluminum heat exchangers. Such solutions are used, in particular, in the production of air conditioning and refrigeration systems and are aimed at increasing the efficiency of heat transfer.

 

Another direction is fillers for plumbing systems. Blanc Fixe is characterized by high purity and specific density; Solvay offers several brands for use as additives and fillers, in particular in solutions for reducing noise in plumbing components and pipes.
